Where Legends Go

Welcome to my blogspot where I share events, thoughts, motivation, inspiration, and lessons.  As you embark on a journey of scrolling through the pages of time!  I promise you that you’ll uncover the secrets of the past, of moments in my life, and learn from the triumphs and failures of myself and our ancestors, and discover how history shapes our world today.

In this chapter June 2024 — Let's dive deep into the fascinating thought and experience that shapes ALL of humankind.  Are you ready to explore the past with me or this thought?  By the way — this blog was inspired by my son who recently purchased a movie on Amazon Prime called; Alexander.  It was an interesting film but I don’t recommend watching.

Nonetheless, after watching the film.  I have been reflecting on something of interest which is our legacy.  I am certain that the passage of time is inevitable, but it can also be a source of motivation, inspiration, influence, and teaching.  By reflecting on the past and those who have come before us, we can gain valuable insights, knowledge, understanding, and perspectives.  Let us use this knowledge, wisdom, and understanding to fuel our potential for positive change and make the most of every day.  We ought to be grateful for the lessons of history and the opportunity to create a brighter future starting now!!

There is something like 117 - 130 billion human beings have ever lived.  It is a little dark and yet indisputably true that the vast majority of them are now dead and the people alive today will one day join them including myself.  And what of all the animals and mountain that preceded them by thousands of years?  The Word says; One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh.  If that be true.  We must ask ourselves where is the next generation of leaders and legends.  What are their names and where are they from?

In the Meditations of Emperor Marcus Aurelius. The Emperor makes a similar series of observations.  He thinks of all the emperors that have come before him, listing not just their names, but the names of the slaves, teachers, and power brokers who filled their courts during their time on this earth.  Where are they now, Emperor Marcus Aurelius asks?  What’s left of them?  In another passage, The Emperor points out that the same thing happened to both Alexander the Great and his mule-driver and now they’re buried in the same earth.  This is life in the grand scheme of things.  This is what history and the passage of time does and always will.

I am truly grateful for the passages that were written and published for us to share.  I am grateful for the opportunity to have a chance to read these experiences, lessons, and perspectives.  I am thankful for a brand new month!!  And I promise myself to not be consumed by the external factors or other peoples ignorance.  For the life that has been created in itself is the greatest teacher.  And those that have come before are the advisors.

With gratitude,
